Stuck in Unhealthy Habits? What Can You Envision?

what can you envision for your healthUnhealthy habits can be tough to shake, and we beat ourselves up for lacking willpower. So let’s take it back to a core question: What can you envision?

Or, in other words, what do you want to be different about your health and life?

Some of us approach this from a place of pro-activity.

But most of us don’t consider this question unless we have to change something in response to illness or injury. Then, with the plantar fasciitis, or the anxiety, or the new Type 2 Diabetes diagnosis, we pine for change. We want our health to be different. Right. Now.

Instead, what if we pause before the injury, before the chronic illness, and consider what we want? What if we get really really clear about what a life of optimal health and well-being would mean for us?

Or, if we’re already in pain or battling disease, what if amid that, we not only seek relief – but also a longer view?

So What Can You Envision?

First, grab a pen and paper. Then, take a look at the Wheel of Health.

In each area, what do you want in your life? What don’t you want?

What’s possible for you in all areas?

By starting there and asking yourself some key questions, you can begin to craft a plan, envision yourself in better health, and take steps toward a life of optimal health.

When I first worked with a health coach, that’s where I began, and it helped me get unstuck. It’s also where I begin working with my coaching clients.

If you need support getting unstuck, or even taking the next steps forward after working through these questions, integrative health coaching may benefit you, too. Contact me to set up a consultation via phone call, or if you’re near central North Carolina for more information on an upcoming event such as Envision 2018.

women benefit from regular weight training , at least two times per week. free weights, body weights and more all count

When I started going to a gym regularly and lifting weights, I remember thinking: I don’t want to bulk up. I simply want to be a little bit stronger. Would I bulk up, like the Incredible Hulk? What benefits would weight training, or resistance training, give me? Why should I do this? And how did this […]
